Renee's Wedding Cakes

I knew of Renee's Wedding Cakes also known as Cakes by Renee when she was located on Erie Street. So on Tuesday, March 10, when I received my copy of Biz X magazine and I saw an ad for Renee's Wedding Cakes, I decided to visit her website. Lo and behold, on the front page, Renee was inviting everyone to come to the Grand Opening at her new location on Lesperance Road. The Grand Opening was scheduled for that same Tuesday, March 10 and Wednesday, March 11.

On Wednesday, I visited Renee's storefront with excitement and anticipation of what is to come ... sampling her cakes and meeting new people.

When I walked into the store, Renee's exceeded my expectations. As Renee described it, it was very "girly". As I entered the store, I couldn't help but notice the pink walls, high circular tables covered with brown table cloth on the left, lower circular tables on the left, also covered with brown table cloths. On the lower tables were photo albums displaying some of Renee's works.

From the moment I entered the store, I could see cakes in different shapes and sizes displayed strategically in various locations throughout the store.

Across the room, at the counter, there were delicious looking pastries for sale. To the left of the counter, Coffee & Cream, serving up different flavours of cappuccino and espresso. Of course, I had to try a French Vanilla Cappuccino. There was a wall dividing another vendor on the left who was serving up chocolate covered fruits.

I walked into the bakery area and laid out on the tables were a variety of cakes, cut in bite size pieces and pastries for her guest to sample. I am not ashamed to say, I sampled everything and it was a delicious as it looks.
